A child in a relationship with the employee's spouse, partner, or dependent children will be called a dependent child but must have no dependents of his or her own. The Post Allowance is not payable when a retirement-eligible employee is leaving Government employment. When an employee retires and terminates service, he or she forfeits all post-gratuity pay, post-retirement health protection benefits, and pension payments that apply to retired employees of comparable rank.
